VORMISME

welkom bij Vormisme. Op deze site ziet u het werk van Pieter Borst, beeldend kunstenaar, illustrator en grafisch vormgever. Van autonome kunst (lowbrow, pop surrealisme) tot het ontwerpen  van advertenties en alles wat daar tussen zit. Illustraties in verschillende stijlen voor boeken, artikelen, geboortekaartjes, t-shirts je kan het zo gek niet bedenken. Muren, laptops, koffers maar ook gewoon canvas moet aan de schilderdrift geloven. Foto’s bewerken of correcties uitvoeren het gebeurt met dezelfde precisie en vastberadenheid. Pieter Borst werkt voor particulieren (huistijlen, illustraties, kunst etc.) maar wordt ook regelmatig ingehuurd door reclame- en ontwerpbureaus (presentaties, advertenties, folders, billboards, huisstijlen, huisstijl handboeken, boeken etc.) enkele opdrachtgevers zijn: Dawn, Etopia, Samen met Max, Xxs,

Op de hoogte blijven van expo’s of nieuw werk kan uiteraard op deze website, maar ook via Twitter, of Facebook.

Binnenkort een rondje internationaal:

Global Village 2012. After selecting almost 60 artists we had to select the artworks for the exhibitions in Alkmaar, Sully and Copenhagen. On each location 50 artists from these selected 60 will present their work to the public.

Projekt 072
From 3 February till 12 February 2012 Global Village will be held in Projekt 072 in Alkmaar, the Netherlands. Opening is on Friday night 3 February 2012.

Château de Sully
From 7 July till 15 July 2012 Global Village will be held at Château de Sully in Burgundy France. Opening is on Saturday afternoon 7 July 2012.

Wie wil dat nou niet op de muur, een “one of a kind” Pieter Borst.

Pieter Borst, autodidact. Geleerd door het leven te leven, nieuwsgierig zijn en veel te kijken. Zijn leraren waren strips, cartoons, graffiti maar ook de Renaissance, art deco en Japanse illustraties.

Het steeds terugkerende “onderzoek” is de relatie tussen: maatschappij & openheid, verstand & emotie, spiritualiteit & het aardse, eerlijkheid naar jezelf en de wereld.

Het is een zoektocht naar wat je bent en wie je mag zijn. Een acceptatie van wat is en wat was, maatschappelijk en persoonlijk. De verwerking van trauma’s en het omhelzen van het leven.

Kort gezegd: Een spiegel van mijn gedachte en gevoelens gegoten in een pop surrealistisch stijl.

Pieter Borst, A self-taught painter. Learned to paint by living his life, being curious and looking at all things around him. His teachers where comics, cartoons, graffiti but he was also inspired by the renaissance, art deco and japanese illustrations.

The recurring theme is the relationship between the society and frankness, Mind and soul, spirituality and earthly. Mainly it’s about being honest to yourself and to the world.

It’s all about who you are, who you’re supposed to be, who you can be and who you allow yourself to be. It is about accepting the past and the consequences of it. Know your past but don’t let it determin your future and above all learn to embrace live.
